By including 7 optical elements, the astrophotography performance of the Pleiades 111 is unmatched. Carefully designed glass provides superb color correction within this apochromatic refractor. It’s difficult to find a focal length of 530mm while still reaping the benefits of an aperture as wide as 111mm, such as on this Pleiades refractor. The resulting f/4.8 ratio presents a speedy system for images filled with brightness and contrast. Please Note: William Optics has implemented a new lens cell design for their impressive new Pleiades line of telescopes. This new design requires a bit of extra attention to ensure the safety and longevity of the optics. William Optics recommends that when not in use the telescope be thoroughly dried, so as to be free of moisture or dew, and then stored in a dry, consistent temperature, space. When storing the telescope they recommend leaving it uncovered while it acclimates to room temperature slowly.

Internal Focuser Design with EAF Compatibility
In typical rear mounted focus designs, the imaging system is moved back and forth, changing the length of optical assembly. This change in length can prove troublesome when using heavy imaging equipment such as weighty cameras and filter wheels. A shift in balance can result in an unstable imaging train, putting a damper on the image quality. Understanding this concern, William Optics has created an internal focusing design to provide rigidity and stability to your set up. Instead of moving the imaging equipment, the optics within the telescope itself moves, providing a solid, fixed system. This focuser design also prevents any vignetting seen with traditional focusers. A dual speed 10:1 Rack & Pinion focuser controls this WIFD, delivering smooth and precise focusing!
